The Calm before the Storm

This week certainly marks the calm before the storm. Just two weeks to go until the official launch of Lord of the Rams.

The website is still pulling in pretty good traffic from a host of different countries: Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany, United States, Australia, France, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, New Zealand, Luxembourg, Canada, Indonesia, and a few other countries that I haven’t been able to identify.

Incidentally, for those of you with an interest in website marketing / traffic analysis, I’m using Google Analytics to monitor the traffic on my site. It’s free to use, easy to incorporate into your website and is much better than a lot of the commercial products that are on the market. It also produces really snazzy reports.

Another interesting feature of Google Analytics (and most other similar products) is the ‘Keywords’ report, which allows you to see what keywords people are using to find your website via the search engines.

Unbelievably, in the past week one visitor found my website by typing ‘an bhfuil cead agam dul go dti an leithreas mas e do thoil e’ into Google (see Extract 1 to spot the relevance of this search result) whilst another individual logged onto the site via the keywords ‘water into wine poster’ (again, see Extract 2 for the relevance of said query). Not sure if either web surfer found what they were looking for on, but it just goes to show how powerful Goggle is and how quick it is to index websites.

Anyway, it probably sounds like I’m working for Google, so …

Just to let you know, there will be a few significant updates to the site next week (Thursday 17 July 2008):

  • Extract 3 from Lord of the Rams
The final extract describes a weekend in London where I nearly met my water loo.
  • Final Details on the Launch Parties
More info on the events in Dicey Reilly’s, Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 on 24 July 2008, and in The Ramor Inn, Ryefield, Virginia, Co. Cavan on 1 August 2008.

If you have any comments, as always direct them via this blog or by emailing me directly at

Until later,

Next update: Thursday 17 July 2008
